There are many differences between this Softether VPN and OpenVPN or other VPN services, but Softether is better in terms of the connection that is deployed in my opinion. Playing an online game that requires a UDP connection is one example.

This article will only show you how to connect to Softether VPN without VPNGate by manually entering the host, username, and password.
1. Simply launch the Softether VPN program, and if you don't already have it, please download it from the Softether VPN website.
2. In this example, I'll use a Softether VPN account obtained from the FastSSH website. Double-click the Add VPN Connection menu in the program.
3. Now, beginning with the top column, Server Name, enter the VPN name; this option can be set with any name. Then, in Hostname, enter the host server's name. Fill in the Port Number with the port provided by the server. Then, in the Virtual Hub Name field, fill in the information from the server. I enter FastSSH because I'm using a FastSSH server.
4. Continue to the middle of the Proxy Type section and make your selection based on the connection conditions. If the user is not using an inject, choose Direct TCP/IP Connection; if the user is using an inject, choose Connect via HTTP Proxy Server.
5. Jump to the side, specifically the User Authentication Settings menu. Use Standard Password Authentication in the Auth Type section. Then, for the server account, enter the username and password.
6. Now return to the bottom. Check Reconnect Automatically and set the interval to 5 seconds, as shown below. Then check Infinite Reconnects as well. Done, and the user can save it by pressing the OK button.
7. The final stage. The name of the server added earlier will appear in the server menu section of Softether VPN. To connect, simply press the server name twice. Wait a moment, and the server should be connected.
Isn't it perplexing? Take it easy, but if the user directly practices the method outlined above, it will be very quick and simple. This is similar to entering the normal SSH account login information and cannot connect directly like the OpenVPN configuration.
However, if the user is using a VPNGate server, the server will be provided immediately and no further configuration is required. Simply press twice to connect instantly.
Depending on the server or user connection, the connecting process can take a long time. If you want to play online games, my advice is to use an Indonesian server because if you use an external server, your PING will be quite high, up to 400, which is not ideal for playing online games.
